It started in 1920, where land was bought with the intention of donating it to the people of Templestowe and erecting a Memorial Hall to honor those who fell and served in the war 1914 to 1918.
The Hall was completed in 1922, and then on the 10th November 1954, the land on which the Memorial Hall stands was transferred to the Shire of Doncaster and Templestowe. The land on which the club is now situated was transferred to the Templestowe RSL Sub-Branch by the way of a gift late 1955, early 1956.
From there, the RSL army of volunteers has transformed this historical place into somewhere the local community can gather, while enjoying great beverages, in memory of our past, present and future service men and women.
Templestowe RSL is a great place to hold a get together of all kinds. With two spacious areas to choose from, our venue is ideal for your next party. The front room is perfect for functions of 50-150 people cocktail style, including outdoor decking with a superb outlook over nearby ranges. The back room is magnificent for smaller, more intimate gatherings. The back room comfortably holds between 30-50 people.
Whether it be a 21st, 30th, 40th, 50th, engagement party, celebrations of life/bereavements, club meeting or just a small private gathering, the Templestowe RSL function rooms offer the perfect facilities.
